Part of the reason why I had taken a long break was I was going through some difficult times with my wife. We both were unhappy with each other but were not communicating. It reached a tipping point where simple things like creating grocery lists and doing laundry were causing fights.

Verse 1 describes one of these fights and finally where the epiphany was reached by my wife suggesting that I get help.

Verse 2 describes my efforts to seek out this help. I did this through a combination of talking with others going through similar situations and taking improvement courses. My wife and I came together to understand that neither of our needs were being met. She needed support, I needed her to show affection.

Verse 3 describes the conversations I had with other individuals who suggested that fighting to get back was futile and that I had “given away any power” in the relationship. I couldn’t believe how much negativity in general from outside sources was coming in. I decided to not listen to this horrible advice and glad I was able to ignore the noise.

The chorus describes how it “takes two to tango” and marriage is a journey. There are challenges and new obstacles that constantly pop up. Together we can push through and find the way.
